FROM COSTA BALLENA WE CAN VISIT: Rota, Chipiona, Sanlucar, El Puerto, Jerez, Cadiz, Arcos, Medina, Vejer, La Sierra.

Rota: 5 minutes by car from Costa Ballena, the closest town to Chipiona. Its old town with the beautiful Castillo de la Luna and in front of him the beautiful Gothic Church of the Virgin of the O, you can go down a small street to the splendid Playa de la Costilla with its long promenade that ends almost in the pine forests.

From Costa Ballena you can see the great lighthouse of Chipiona is the highest in Spain. Another special place is the neo-Gothic Sanctuary of the Virgen de Regla right on the beach of Regla.
A curious aspect shared by Rota and Chipiona unique in Spain and some towns in Western France are the corrales, where they have a spectacular view from the beach of the Cruz del Mar in Chipiona and which are very old oyster stone walls where at low tide fish are trapped in watertight enclosures.
